In the Netherlands, the House for Whistleblowers provides advice to, among other things, employees who raise the alarm in the event of social abuse as whistleblowers. They also investigate abuses. We made a video for the Whistleblowers Authority for the main page of their website, social media platforms and presentations. The Whistleblowers Authority wants to use this video to encourage whistleblowers to contact them in good time. The target group of the video is all Dutch in a (former) working relationship who suspect abuse at work. It was important that the video is accessible to everyone. The script of the video is written at B1 reading level, because the vast majority of the population understands texts at this level. The illustrations are concrete in their meaning and inclusive. The video focuses on three symbols. The first is the iris of the eye (the logo of the Whistleblower House). This stands for the reporter and for 'hear, see, speak'. The iris of the eye also represents a crosswalk, the second symbol. This stands for the help that the Whistleblowers Authority offers to reporters. The roof of a house symbolises the organisation itself and safety.
